Adjusting the HEQ5 worms for end float
Worm end-float adjustment
  1. Set the axis lock.
  2. Remove the rubber cover from the side of the mount.
  3. Using your tool (see below) loosen the locking rings on the worm shaft so there is a small amount of end float. You should be able to move the axis slightly.
  4. Tighten the locking ring while slightly 'rocking' the axis until all motion stops. DON'T OVERTIGHTEN!
  5. Replace the rubber cover.

The length of the tool is not critical other than the fact that you'll need to make it long enough so that you can fully place it into the hole in the casting. Mine has about an inch of 'depth' to work with. The .250" hole is so you can put a suitable 1/4" shaft through for a T-handle.
