The piggy-back adapter that came with my C8 'worked'... and that's about all. You couldn't change the orientation of the camera or aim it away from where the main scope was aimed, and it's alignment in that case was fairly poor. Also, it wasn't simply removed. To fix this I had my friend Dave the Machinist 'whack' together something for me that fit on my Ken's Rings guide-scope rail. He had already duplicated the rail to fit on my Stellarvue refractor rings so I can use the piggy-back adapter either on my C8 or on either of my SV refractors. It carries a small Manfroto ball-head which is sturdy and light. Now I can compose my images as I wish for wide-field imaging with a camera lens. ![]() Back to Ozzzy's Astronomy page |
